| Customer Reviews: Sweet, moderately hot. I like it April 2, 2009 A. Dent (Minas Anor, GD) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I actually sampled the Fischer & Wieser Mango Ginger Habanero Sauce, 21-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6) but the contents are exactly the same, only the bottle size is different.
The Mango puree is the main ingredient in the Habanero sauce, followed closely by Honey - so think REAL SWEET. And apple sauce, ginger, some vinegar, sugar, spices and, of course, Habanero peppers. No preservatives whatsoever.
I don't know why, I expected a super-hot mixture, something likely to burn a hole in my stomach if swallowed but, as it happens to be the case with the other Fischer & Wieser sauce I sampled, the Fischer & Wieser Razzpotle Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce, 20-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6), this one too is a well-balanced - it means NOT HOT - concoction that discretely but effectively enhances the taste of whatever it may be added to. My uses so far, and the Habanero met and exceeded expectations: an Egyptian omelette (don't ask how or why), lamb chops, salmon.
When used as directed, the Habanero sauce will tilt any dinner toward the mysterious, the flavorful, the exotic.
P.S. - it's a 5-star ONLY if you don't mind 'sweet' in a hot sauce.
Blah! January 15, 2009 Kay Hayes (San Jose, CA USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My family loved the Raspberry and Blueberry sauces so when I saw this one at the store I just had to try it. What a disappointment! I marinated chicken to grill and everyone agreed it was bland and blah. I've heard that you can mix the sauces with oil and vinegar to make salad dressing so maybe this would be okay on a salad but it's flavor isn't stong enough to stand up to chicken. I'd say skip this one and buy the Raspberry or Blueberry ones instead!
Absolutely fantastic July 6, 2008 S. Baeurle (San Jose, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is one of the best sauces I ever had. I just about fits to everything. Whether it's beef, lamb, pork, fish or poultry. Really great stuff.
Great sauce for fish or chicken! July 3, 2008 Robert C. Boyer (Annapolis, MD United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This sauce makes it so easy to make fish and chicken taste so much more interesting. It is a unique blend of sweet and spicy (but not too spicy)! I usually saute fish in a little olive oil. When just about finished, I add a little of this sauce over the top and then turn the fish over for a minute or two. It is that easy!
I have given away many bottles of this sauce to friends and they end up loving it too...
